Adobe Acrobat Troubleshooting

This article provides troubleshooting steps for resolving common Adobe Acrobat issues.

Symptoms:

  • Adobe Acrobat will not open
  • Adobe Acrobat is not working correctly
  • Adobe Creative Cloud is not open
  • Adobe Creative Cloud is not logged in
  • Adobe Acrobat gives an error stating that an instance is already running

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Verify that Adobe Creative Cloud is open and signed in
    a. Confirm that the Adobe Creative Cloud app is open in the bottom right system tray.
    b. Make sure the app is signed in with the appropriate account.
  2. Open Adobe Creative Cloud if it is not running
    a. If the Creative Cloud icon is not visible, use the bottom left Windows search bar.
    b. Search for Adobe Creative Cloud.
    c. Open the application.
  3. Sign in to Creative Cloud if needed
    a. If the Creative Cloud app opens but does not appear to be logged in, select Continue with Google.
    b. Complete the sign-in process using the appropriate account.
  4. Close stuck Adobe Acrobat processes
    a. If Adobe Acrobat shows an error stating that an instance is already running, open the bottom left Windows search bar.
    b. Search for Task Manager and open it.
    c. In Task Manager, locate all instances of Adobe Acrobat.
    d. Select each Adobe Acrobat process and click End Task.
  5. Submit a Service Desk ticket if the issue continues
    a. If Adobe Acrobat is still not working, submit a ticket to the Service Desk at help.responsiveed.com.
    b. Include the computer name and IP address in the ticket.
